The Rockette audition 30 years back, was an open call–I had no agent, and still don’t. And that is how I got the dance role in the movie In the Heights. I went to an open call.

Height of rockettes. To become a Rockette, a dancer must be at least 18 years old, between 5 feet 5 inches (1.65 metres; height restrictions were lowered from 5 feet 6 inches [1.68 metres] in 2022) and 5 feet 10.5 inches (1.79 metres) tall, and proficient in tap, jazz, ballet, and modern dance.
