Kawasaki voyager review

The stock OEM oil filter on all the 1700 engines 2009 - 2015 is the same as my 1500 Classic and the 900 Classic (pic below). I crawled under a 2015 Vaquero and Voyager and found the same fllter number on both. I found the included cross reference by doing a search for that filter number.

I test rode one a 2002 Voyager II priced at $4k (32k miles) and the noisy transmission turned me off. Kawasaki uses straight cut gears that are more durable and noisier. They are a great used motorcycle value for sure. Four models--three of them bearing familiar names--are being rolled out for 2009. The 1700 Classic, Classic LT and Nomad all receive the obvious 100cc bump in displacement from 2008's 1600, but the bigger news is Kawasaki's new luxury touring bike, the Voyager. While both are heavy bikes the Voyager is more top heavy due to the location of the gas tank and battery. I've taken a couple of short (300 miles in a day) trips so far, and she's a dream to ride on the hiway. IMO, a nice Voyager XII is probably a better bike than the Goldwing. Many people have well over 200,000 miles on them, it's about the same for the Goldwing. But the Voyager is lighter, and less complicated, and it is much easier to work on. I was concerned about the chain driven cam. It must be a whopper of a chain.
